Class Announcements End of the Year EventsI can't believe the end of the year is just a few days away. I have loved this class so much and will always remember them fondly as my last class of students at Signal Hill. We have a few things coming up this week to end our school year. Thursday is our Awards Assembly at 1:45 followed by our Recorder Concert at 2:30. We hope you can join us for these important events. Friday at 9:45 is our end of the year breakfast. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend. I hope to see you all this week!
UPDATED SOL DATESIn order to ensure that ample time is provided for all students to complete their SOL tests, the dates were recently changed. Below is our NEW SOL testing schedule. All of our tests will take place in the morning. Please try to plan doctor appointments and family events on other days when possible. If you know your child must be out on one of these days please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks!
READING: May 20 SOCIAL STUDIES: May 21 MATH: June 1 I'm back!!It seems like I've been gone forever! The class had a great winter with Mrs. Woods and I am so pleased with how hard they have been working and how much they have learned! I missed them and am so glad I am able to be back with them for the remainder of the year!
We had a great time on the Jamestown trip. Despite the "hot box" bus ride home, I think all the students really enjoyed themselves and will remember this trip for a long time to come! I'm so glad to be back with my kids! ~Mrs. Gable  Released SOL Tests For Practice Reminders/Upcoming dates to rememberThank you to all the parents who joined us on the Jamestown field trip. Despite the "Hot Box" bus ride home, I think everyone had a fabulous time! I am so glad I was able to be back to spend this awesome day with the class! Weekly QuizzesReminder: The students will have a Social Studies quiz every Tuesday and a Science quiz every Thursday. Students should bring home their notebooks each night to study. All the information they need is located in these notebooks. It is very important that the notebooks come back to school each day! The students also have a spelling test every Friday. The words are written in their agendas.
Our MissionThe students in our class have created the following mission. We have all signed the mission and have agreed to use it to help us be the Brainiacs of 4th grade!!
To be the Brainiacs of 4th grade, we will use our brains to think, get good grades, make good decisions, listen, have a positive attitude, and be creative in our work! Class Files

Released SOL TestsThis site provides SOL tests from previous years. It is great practice for the students. Click on the 4th grade test links. Social studies PostersHere is a great website that has reference posters reinforcing the concepts that are covered this year in Social Studies. Great for review! TRI Booster for MathThis site gives the students practice problems that correlate with the SOL objectives for 4th grade. |
